Mariah Carey Says 'American Idol' Was ‘Worst Experience’ of Her Life, Talks About Feud with Former Co-Judge Nicki Minaj

Former American Idol judge Mariah Carey opened up about her experience on the reality singing competition. In an interview with an Australian radio show, the diva was asked if she has plans to return to American Idol to which the singer exclaimed a big "No!" and described American Idol as "the worst experience of her life."

Carey did an interview with "The Kyle and Jackie O Radio Show." The hosts asked if she will be returning as one of American Idol judges and she rejected the idea quickly.

"Hell, no! That was the worst experience of my life," Mariah said. "I'm not going to get into what it was, but let's just say I don't think they had any intentions for us to have a good experience doing that show."

According to Inquisitr, her negative feelings towards the show did not stem from the feud she had with another co-judge, Nicki Minaj. Carey said that the rumored feud with Minaj was not true and was only later turned into some sort of "ridiculousness."

"Pitting two females against each other wasn't cool. It should have been about the contestants instead of about some nonexistent feud that turned into even more ridiculousness. I would never want to be involved with it again," Carey mentioned.

Both Carey and Minaj made an exit from the show the same day after the season ended. Rather than admitting directly, the singer implied that the two female judges that time were both set up for some television cat-fight.

Carey also admitted that the show is full of bad performances and the judges are instructed to pay compliments.

"You have to make up things to say about people. Half the time the performances are good. You'd just be like, 'It was good!'" Carey added.

This is not the first time that the former American Idol judge moaned about her stint in the show. Back in 2013, she spoke to a radio show and recalls working for AI was like working with "Satan."

"Honestly, I hated it. It was like hell. Going to work every day in hell with Satan," the iconic singer remarked.

For American Idol's final season, it hasn't been determined who will be seated in the judging panel. However, fans are high with hopes that Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul will reunite for the show one last time.
