Nine-time champion Rafael Nadal advances to the second round of the French Open. Nadal was able to beat 18-year-old wildcard Quentin Halys in the first round. But the next question that stands is, could the Spaniard's next opponent be Novac Djokovic

Nadal's only loss in the French tournament was back in 2009 when he was taken out by Robin Soderling in the fourth round. Although Nadal dropped his serve in the first round, he was able to gain control of the game which led to his victory against Halys.

According to a report by Fox News, Nadal's match and victory over Halys will not give any indication of his level in the French Open but it's safe to say that he started smooth in the tournament. In addition to the report, Nadal could most likely face top-contender Novak Djokovic as soon as the quarterfinals for this year.

"I am trying to avoid that. I am here to try to play good tennis and give myself a chance to play well and compete for everything. My mentality and my goal is the same always," Nadal said.

BBC Sports reports that Djokovic now stands with 23 won matches in a row. He is currently attempting to win his first title at Roland Garros and aims to become the eighth man to be able to complete a career Grand Slam win of Wimbledon, US, Australian and French Opens.

"This year I'm playing very well and I hope I will get the confidence I have had since the beginning of the year," Djokovic said.

Apart from his victory in the French Open, Nadal also made headlines because of the $850,000 sports watch he was wearing in the tournament. The expensive timepiece is called the RM 27-02 Tourbillion which was created especially for the tennis superstar by Richard Mille. It was made for the Roland Garros 2015 tennis tournament in Paris which was held this week.

Nadal has been an official ambassador of Richard Mille watches since 2010. The expensive brand also supports golfer Bubba Watson, actress Natalie Portman and F1 driver Felipe Massa.

There are only 50 of the Nadal watches in the world and the remaining 49 pieces are being sold for $850,000 each. The watch boasts unique features like the so-called Tourbillon or the whirlwind mechanics. The watch was specifically made to answer the needs of professional athletes like Nadal. It is made ultra-lightweight and thin so the player won't even feel it's there.
