Another actor has checked into "American Horror Story: Hotel." And, according to the show's creator, Ryan Murphy, he's not checking out!

"Max Greenfield has joined the cast of FX's 'American Horror Story: Hotel,' producer Ryan Murphy tweeted today, suggesting that Greenfield's stay would likely be prematurely terminated," Deadline noted.

"This October, Max Greenfield (like you've never seen him) is checking in to the hotel....but not checking out," read Murphy's tweet.

The 34-year-old is not new to the small screen, as he had played Schmidt in "New Girl" and also appeared on "The Mindy Project," E! News pointed out. In fact, he will be back on "New Girl" on its fifth season, which will premiere in January next year.

The Twitter reveal once more affirmed Murphy's preference for social media in making show-related announcements. Indeed, Murphy is one tech-savvy showrunner.

"Previously announced cast members for the show's fifth season include Chloe Sevigny, Lady Gaga, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson plus Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett," Deadline said. "Production on the 13-episode Hotel will begin in L.A. in late summer and will launch on FX in October."

Further, it's clear that Greenfield's engagement in the horror show will be short-lived. His continued involvement in "New Girl" is also a big hint that he's not going to be a regular on the "American Horror Story" series.

With that, what role will he possibly play? Will he be one of the victims? Or will he play one of the ghouls or villains in the upcoming series? What do you think?

Considering that he'll only be a temporary addition to the cast, we're guessing his character will meet a very ghastly end.

Greenfield will soon be seen on the big screen as he is said to be working on "The Big Short," with an all-star cast that includes Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Selena Gomez, and Steve Carell, as reported by MailOnline. The movie is a drama about the men who gained millions from a "global economic meltdown" and will be released in 2016.

On the other hand, Murphy continues to be busy as a bee as he is not only doing "AHS," he's also working on "Scream Queens" and "American Crime Story."

Looks like he's had enough of the peppy world that his hit show "Glee" was and is raring to dabble in darker and bloodier themes, but still with a dash of humor.
