And you thought Kim Kardashian held that record.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson managed to take 105 selfies in less than 3 minutes Thursday night at the "San Andreas" world premiere red carpet, thus earning him the Guinness World Record for the most selfies taken in 3 minutes.

"We just set a NEW GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for most self-portraits (selfies) taken in record time (yup, a selfie world record exists and your arm gets a helluva workout)," his caption on a snap he shared on Instagram read.

Mashable clarified that the actor and former wrestler had actually taken more than 105 selfies on the red carpet in London. However, some of them were disqualified as they were either blurred or cut off portions of his face.

"Guinness World Records adjudicator Mark McKinley was on hand to make sure official selfie rules were followed - including that the full face and neck of the participants are visible and that the images are focused," Time noted.

In the wake of this feat, some may wonder: who would dare break The Rock's record? Would Kim make an attempt?

The feat was well timed as it provided additional publicity to the actor's new movie, "San Andreas," which is about "the aftermath of a massive earthquake along the San Andreas Fault," MailOnline said.

"Dwayne plays Ray, a Los Angeles Fire Department rescue-helicopter pilot, whom is hovering in his helicopter when the earthquake hits," the British publication described. "He and his ex-wife Emma, played by Carla Gugino, make a dangerous journey across the state in order to rescue their daughter Blake, played by Alexandra Daddario."

The film's release, May 29, appeared to be quite timely considering the devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake that shook Nepal happened only a month ago. It may also excite anxiety among residents of areas where major fault lines are located, particularly those in California.

"The San Andreas has long been considered one of the most dangerous earthquake faults because of its length. At nearly 800 miles long, it cuts through California like a scar and is responsible for some of the largest shakers in state history, Yahoo! Movies noted.

However, as detailed by the site, The Rock's movie had a number of scenarios that would not translate in real life (read: fiction). Check out the movie once it opens in theaters and see if you can separate fiction from fact.
