We compared the latest rumors about the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and the Apple iPad Pro. Check them out below. Note that these are all unconfirmed by now and official statements from the tech giants are yet to be released.

Specs & Features

CrossMap claimed that the Surface Pro 4 will come in at two models: one with a 12-inch screen display and one in 14 inches. Ecumenical News wrote that the 12-inch variant will be powered by the fifth-generation Core M Broadwell CPU from Intel, and the 14-inch model with an Intel i5 and i7 processor. A 16 GB RAM and up to 1 TB memory storage are also rumored features of the device.

Aside from these, the Surface Pro 4 is also said to have an improved GPU for enhanced visual experience, CrossMap added. Ecumenical News noted that the Surface Pro 4 will be thinner and quieter than the previous models because of Intel's Broadwell CPUs' smaller size. It will also be fanless.

The iPad Pro, in contrast, is said to come in with a 12.9-inch screen, which makes it bigger than the 9.7-inch iPad Air currently out in the market, Expert Reviews claimed. According toETNews, LG is now speeding up the production of high-resolution oxide TFT panels, which will be utilized for the new iPad. These panels could have 2K resolution.

The biggest rumor surrounding the iPad Pro at the moment is its Force Touch ability, which now appears on the 13-inch MacBook Pro, Expert Reviews added. This feature allows users to operate using secondary mode.

The iPad Pro will likely have the new A9X processor chip, along with 2 GB of RAM space, Expert Reviews added. Other rumored specs include a stylus, an 11,000 mAh battery, and a USB port which could be in addition to the Lightning connector or as a replacement. The tablet is also said to have the iOS 9.

Price

Ecumenical News speculated that the Surface Pro 4 will be priced around $1,200 to $2,000, while the iPad Pro could cost more than $760, Expert Reviews noted.

Release Date

Now that Microsoft announced that Windows 10 is on its way, speculations are also going around as to which device will be equipped with the OS. CrossMap claimed that the Surface Pro 4 could be released this coming summer in order to coincide with the Windows 10's release.

Moreover, recent price cuts have also been made on the Surface Pro 3, a strategy employed in tech companies that means a new device is coming along to replace the one that's currently out in the market. VentureBeat, however, quoted AMD CEO Lisa Su implying that the Surface Pro 4 will come out at the end of July 2015 just like the Windows 10.

Expert Reviews noted that the iPad Pro could be released sometime around September or October, which follows Apple's yearly cycle of releasing its products.
