You know dual-SIM devices, but what about dual-screened smartphones?

Although the YotaPhone 2 was launched last year, the two-screened smartphone has still yet to gain traction in the US as it has not yet been released in America. However, that could change soon, as talk has it that the device may be entering the US market soon.

"Yota finally announced that it will bring the YotaPhone 2 to the U.S.," Digital Trends said.

"Those who pre-order the YotaPhone 2 can get their hands on the dual-sided device for $500," the news source went on to announce. "As an added bonus, those early birds will get a three month subscription to BookMate and a Yota Bumper case. The Yota Wireless Power Bank for wireless charging will cost just $50, in honor of the Indiegogo campaign."

The makers of YotaPhone, described by Gizmodo as a "wacky Russian smartphone with a dual LED and E-Ink screen," had gone on Indiegogo to generate $50,000 needed to pay regulatory fees and certifications in its North American invasion. The company eyes a summer release of the device to the backers of its campaign and a public launch some time after that.

"Only three hours into the campaign, the company has already raised $60,000 in flex funding-and it's safe to say that number will rise quickly over the next two days, since the company is offering a $75 discount to anyone who backs in the first 48 hours," Gizmodo observed.

The phone itself has a 5-inch AMOLED display and runs on Android Lollipop. At its back is an "E-Ink screen that's touch-sensitive and always on, letting you read, respond to messages, and check apps without turning the energy-hog LED screen on."

With this energy-saving feature, users can reportedly read content on the device for five days on just one charge, according to Yota.

"Other features include a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor (not the newest chipset around, but still powerful), LTE, an 8 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal memory," Phone Arena said.

Matthew Kelly, Yota's managing director, revealed to Digital Trends that the company may release the phone in the U.S. through "one of the big four" American carriers.

Right now, the device is sold in the UK for about $830. However, the company had announced price cuts for the smartphone, thus lowering the range to more appealing prices.
