Another much-anticipated colorway of the Air Jordan 1 High is making a return soon.

Kicks on Fire reported that the Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago” will be available at select shoe stores and boutiques on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Sneaker Bar Detroit revealed that the shoe will be available on Nike.com and a number of Jordan Brand retailers. The sneaker will have a retail price of $160.

The sneaker features a retro look in celebration of the Jordan Brand’s 30th anniversary. Being the first of the numbered Air Jordans, the Air Jordan 1 was originally worn by Michael Jordan in 1985. Since Jordan’s early days in the NBA, the shoe has become one of the most popular in the world of sneaker collectors, with its classic white, Varsity Red and black tones.

Based on the images presented by Kicks on Fire, the upper is made of premium leather. Varsity Red tones are present around the toe area, along the shoelace holes, ankle region and heel counter. The tongue also features a Varsity Red tab with the white “Nike Air”. The sides and front part of the upper are white with perforations for proper ventilation. The tongue is also white. The shoelaces, Nike Swoosh on the sides and sock lining are black, while the insole is white with “Nike Air” printed on it. The midsole is white and the entire outsole is red, featuring the same pattern as the original Air Jordan 1.

Sole Collector made a side-by-side comparison of the upcoming Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago” 2015 and the 2013 version. Based on the images, the 2013 version featured the Jumpman logo on the tongue tab. The older version also seemed to be higher at the ankles compared to the May 2015 pair. Both pairs still featured the black Air Jordan wings logo on the ankle area and two extra shoelaces, black and red.

The 2015 model has the advantage in terms of materials and durability, being a re-mastered version, based on the same article by Sneaker Bar Detroit. Sole Collector added that Jordan Brand corrected the error it made with the 2013 pair, making the new one as similar to the original as possible.

According to another article by Sole Collector, the pair will be factory unlaced upon its May 30 release. Longtime collectors might recall that the original 1985 pair was also factory unlaced when it launched. The box is also similar to the original, making the new model the closest version to the OG since 1994.
