Assassin's Creed 3 was recently leaked and as result many people have garnered access to the game's story and ending. A full video walkthrough was recently posted on YouTube by user SplitPlayThru (video below) who also exposed the Game's grand finale.

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT.

Desmond and his entourage come face to face with Juno who asks him to touch the orb so that he can save humanity. Suddenly Minerva arrives and tells him not to do it because it would only free the evil Juno. Juno retorts the alternative is no better than freeing her. She tells Desmond that if he chooses to heed Minerva the world will be completely destroyed and he and his group will come out it alive. He will grow into an inspiration for the rebuilding of humanity and will die old. After his death he will ascend to the status of a legend and a God and his words will eventually be corrupted and lead to more bloodshed and destruction. He will ultimately repeat the same cycle he has currently gone through. She ends her narration asking him how this could possibly be a better result. Desmond tells Minerva that he has made up his mind. If he does not save Juno then the world will be destroyed. How could he allow so much destruction to continue? He justifies it by stating that if Juno is freed then they can find a new way to fight her. Minerva protests and reveals that he will die if he does. Juno tells him that it will be painless. Desmond accepts his fate and ultimately dies. Juno walks past his lifeless body telling him that the world is saved and that he played his part well. Now she must play her part.

In the Epilogue the game shifts back to 1783 and Assassin Connor learns that that new government has taken over the people's land. As he watches the people celebrate the departure of the British he seems to regret fighting for the independence of teh USA.

On Game FAQs a group of gamers reacted by stating their displeasure with the ending of the game. The major complaint seemed to be the opened quality of the ending in which Desmond, the series' main anti-hero ultimately sacrifices himself in vain. For some it felt as if Ubisoft was heeding fans' calls to get rid of Desmond, but ultimately did little to redeem him. Additionally, the ending seemed a bit predictable for a few fans. Says HipHopBeats "Lol another game where the protagonist dies. Why am I not surprised?"

Azure Vergil answers to HipHopBeats "Apparently the protagonist being good = good storytelling." DrkVktx adds "I cannot process that ending. At all. If [Mass Effect 3] hadn't happened, this would definitely be the worst game ending all year."B_E_R_T adds that "It's a Domino Effect of terrible endings this 2012, first Mass Effect 3 and now this."

The game comes out in just 2 days (October 30) for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and reviews will be out for the game on the same day. A Wii U version will debut on November 18 with the console.
