New alleged leaked photos of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active surfaced on May 14, revealing that the images that were previously posted by another Twitter user were legitimate shots of the upcoming device.

Android Pit reported that the new photos showed the front and rear of the rugged sibling of the Samsung Galaxy S6. Based on the photos featured on GSM Arena, the new device was black with the AT&T logo on the back. The rugged construction and casing made it appear close to the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. A heartrate monitor was also present at the back of the smartphone beside the camera sensor. Instead of the fingerprint scanner, a regular home button was shown, similar to its predecessor. Other physical keys were available for "home", "recent apps" and "return".

Sam Mobile wrote that they expect the handset, dubbed SM-G890A, to include a microSD card slot, which was also lacking on the Galaxy S6. The black handset generally has a heavy-duty and rugged appearance. The loudspeaker seemed to have been transferred to the rear. The device will reportedly feature a 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED+ display. It will also include an Exynos 7420 SoC, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. The device will measure 73.6 x 146.9 x 8.8 mm, which is slightly larger compared to the Galaxy S6. The rear camera is 16 megapixels while the front camera is 5 megapixels. The S6 Active is said to feature a 3500 mAh battery. Furthermore, the product may be MIL-STD-810G certified, making it resistant to water, dust, rain, salt, humidity, solar radiation, vibration, transport shock and thermal shock. It will be the ideal smartphone for individuals with an active lifestyle and who love the great outdoors.

User @evleaks provided new renders of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active on Twitter on May 14, which were quite the same as the photos revealed a couple of days before. There were two colors available - black and white. Both featured a digital camo design on the back with the same AT&T logo.

Phandroid stated that there are rumors that the Samsung ZenZero may actually be the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. A trusted insider cited that a "Samsung Zenzero" device was seen in the visitor logs of a popular Android app. The details on the device showed that it had some features that were the same as the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. Furthermore, the device includes "zero" in its codename. It could have some relation to "Project Zero" or Samsung's plans to change the design and make of their smartphones, beginning with the Galaxy S6.

There is no official launch date for the Galaxy S6 Active but users expect it to be soon.
