Carey dropped her new single titled "Infinity" on April 26 and is also set to release a compilation album of her greatest hits on May 18, the music site noted. Aside from these, the singer will begin her Las Vegas artist residency show named "Mariah #1 to Infinity" starting on May 6 until July 26.

Other previously announced Billboard Music Awards performers include Britney Spears, Iggy Azalea, Kelly Clarkson, Hozier, Nick Jonas, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, and Van Halen, the news outlet listed. The show, which will be hosted by Christine Teigen and Ludacris and produced by Dick Clark Productions, will air live on ABC at 8 PM ET on May 17.

According to the music site, the finalists for the BMAs are "based on album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring and social-media interactions -- measurements that are tracked year-round by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound." The awards depend on the reporting period of March 10, 2014 up to March 8, 2015.

What to Expect from Mariah's Las Vegas Residency

Carey's 18-show stint at Las Vegas will showcase some of the singer's well-known hits such as "Vision of Love," "Dreamlover," "Emotions," "One Sweet Day," "Don't Forget About Us," and "Fantasy," Music Times wrote.

"The rehearsals have been going really well," Carey said of the residency, E! News reported exclusively. "It's been mainly for me about the music and about how to incorporate the songs. Just because they were all number one records doesn't mean they all make an easy set list...a lot of ballads and up tempos. So it's difficult to make it work seamlessly."
