Fans of the hit animated flick "Frozen" rejoiced in March when Disney announced that it will finally be greenlighting a sequel in the wake of a year-long clamor for more of Queen Elsa and Princess Anna.

After the confirmation of part 2 comes what seem like a long wait for fans of the movie - and the numerous spoilers and rumors, one of which is about a new villain in Arendelle.

"There'll be a new villain in Arendelle and the villain will be a woman," said Crossmap. "Since Elsa's power is ice, cold it is possible to have a villain with the power of fire."

"In the tale of fire and ice, who wins?" the site speculated.

In addition to news of a new villain, will this character be a familiar one from other fairytale realms? Or will this be a completely new one made specially for the film?

Further, it's also been said that Prince Hans won't likely be the villain in "Frozen 2." That's reportedly because he may come back to the kingdom as a changed man - and may even be Queen Elsa's love interest.

Now that is one daring proposition! What do you think about this plot angle? Will this mean Jack Frost won't be making an appearance after all?

Additionally, it's been said that Prince Hans may even "help Elsa and Anna fend off the attacks of the new villain in order to save and restore peace to the kingdom," Youth Health noted.

"He has a redeeming value in his good looks, charm, and politeness, which Disney might take advantage of and put into play for 'Frozen 2.' Prince Hans would likely prove to Elsa, Anna, and Arendelle that he is a changed man once he steps up and do something to save the kingdom from a new threat," the site added.

As expected, Disney has not confirmed speculations over the film's story. At least not yet, as the projected release date of the sequel may be sometime in 2018. We may hear more reliable updates perhaps about 2 years from now or so.

So far, what is known for sure is that Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell will be back to reprise their respective roles as the Snow Queen and her sister. Well, at least "once the lawyers have sorted out their pay," The Telegraph said.

Josh Gad, who voiced Olaf the snowman in "Frozen," will be back in the follow up in the same capacity. Jennifer Lee will also be back to direct the sequel.
