Android Pit has reported that it has been rumored that Huawei would be releasing a second-generation Nexus 5 this year. Not only that, the news site also speculated on what the new device might look like.

Recently, Google has released a video detailing on Project Fi, its wireless carrier project. No, Google didn't announce anything about the alleged Nexus 5 there but a new device has been spotted in the clip. Watch it here:

If you have noticed, a device popped at the 0:16 to 0:23 of the clip. Android Pit said that it is possible that Google just used this new device image as a representation for the clip. However, it also popped the biggest question of all: "Why would Google go to the trouble of creating a new product render rather than just use an actual device that exists and that is linked to the project? Could this be the Huawei-built Nexus 5 2015?"

In an earlier report, Android Pit reported that the Nexus 5 (2015) device would come out before the year ends. It also aired the possibility of the new device being the "fastest phone of the year" as it is said to get "a 64-bit Snapdragon 820 processor."

However, Know Your Mobile and Yibada reported that the new Nexus 5 set to be released this year might probably be made by LG, citing reports revealing that Google execs have been visiting LG in Korea. Both reports also said that the new Nexus phone would likely get the same specs the LG G4 would be getting and that it would likely be a 5.5-inch with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.

If you remember, we reported earlier that a new Nexus 7 might come out this year. We cited  Android Origin which reported that it is possible that Google and LG could partner to launch the new Nexus device. Android Origin cited news site E Today which said that there were engineers from Google who went to the LG headquarters. It is speculated that talks of plans for a possible Nexus 7 successor have been made during the visit.

Android Origin also revealed that there are speculations that LG would also be making a new Nexus smartphone, a possible successor to the Nexus 6. It is in partnership with Huawei. "It could be that Huawei will be manufacturing the Nexus smartphone this year and LG will be manufacturing the tablet. Or it could also be possible that LG will be making both the smartphone as well as the tablet, with Huawei coming out with budget variants of these devices for the masses," the report said.

Nothing is clear at the moment as all of these are conflicting and Google has not spoken about the matter.
