"The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel" beta version will officially be launched on the PS4 and Xbox One on Apr. 23.

The beta version of "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel" will commence on April 23 at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET / 3 p.m. GMT and will continue until April 27 at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET / 3p.m. GMT.

IGN reported that it will be the sole console beta for the upcoming massively multiplayer online (MMO) game and will be a limited closed public version. Gamers who intend to join should have received an invite in their email inbox. Players should also check their spam filters to ensure that the invites come through.

Invitations are still being sent out at the moment. Those who already received their invitations are advised to start downloading immediately. There will also be no NDA in place for the beta test, so players should livestream and share screenshots as much as they can.

Eurogamer said that the day-one patch will have a file size of 15GB. The game is actually larger compared to a single Blu-ray disc, which has a capacity of 50GB.

Game developer Bethesda stated, "ESOTU is an incredibly massive game, both in terms of sheer scope and the data required to bring you this truly enormous experience. At the moment, the client will exceed a 50GB Blu-ray disc which means there will also be a large day-one patch that is somewhere in the region of 15GB."

Based on the same IGN report, gamers should expect to begin at level 1, unless they paid to move their PC character over to the full game, since all beta characters will be cleared before the official launch in June.

The opening chapter of "The Elder Scrolls Online" was improved to prepare new players for the buy-to-play. There is also a new patch which delivered theft, murder and burglary to Tamriel. There will be a new Collections Window where players can monitor their pets, mounts and costumes.

Playstation.com reported that characters from beta will not be carried over to the live version of the game on the PS4. Players who are eligible to transfer their characters from PC or Mac to PS4 will have their characters ready on the PS4 megaservers on the big launch date. Others will have to start again from scratch.

As for the full console versions of "The Elder Scrolls Online", these will be launched on June 9, 2015. Pre-ordering is already available on Amazon.com.
