Currently, the eighth season of "The Voice" has Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and Pharrell on the panel of judges. However, will three of them be replaced by Gwen Stefani, CeeLo Green, and Usher?

Recent reports have it that the trio will be back on the hit singing competition. However, it's been learned that the artists will return as advisors, instead of judges/coaches.

"Former coaches CeeLo Green, Gwen Stefani and Usher will return to the NBC singing competition on April 27 as advisers," The Hollywood Reporter said, based on NBC's confirmation. "The trio will offer their expertise to the top eight singers left in the running under current coaches Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton."

It can be recalled that CeeLo was one of the original coaches of the show. However, he signed off after the third season, only to return in Season 5. He finally quit the show afterwards, saying last year that the gig became "a job."

"It easily and quickly became a job," he told Us Weekly. "Very, very obligating... Taxing and tiring... I still tip my hat to Adam and Blake and those guys who continuously do it, but I think I ran my course there just naturally."

"Amicably, we parted ways," he went on to reveal. "I've got some very great memories there. It really has everything to do with me having the leverage to go elsewhere and be a success as well."

It would seem that his consent to becoming an advisor on the show was the fact that it won't tie him to the gig in the same way as before.

Gwen sat in the judge's seat in Season 7 while Usher began his stint in Season 4 and repeated it in Season 6, where his ward, Josh Kaufman, won the competition.

The reunion should boost viewership ratings and make April 27's episode an interesting one, considering the artists' shared history on the show.

Now, on to the recap.

Team Christina's Kimberly Nichole sang a stunning rendition of Etta James' "Something's Got a Hold on Me," making her a most likely favorite to win the season. However, Joshua Davis from Team Adam disappointed with his coach himself saying that his risk didn't really pay off.

Hannah Kirby's "Shout" by Tears for Fears was also a downer, putting Team Blake in jeopardy. However, the judges stood up for Meghan Linsey after her performance of "Home." Coach Blake must be proud.

Meanwhile, Koryn Hawthorne stepped things up with a great performance of Ed Sheeran's "Make It Rain," described by TV Line as having "more thrills than a weekend at Six Flags."

"Kudos to Pharrell for some brilliant staging - a darkened stage with Koryn illuminated by just a few stark beams of light - which took away any and all distraction from the 17-year-old's beautifully varied vocal," the news source said.

Deanna Johnson, however, did not fare as well with "Somebody to Love," while Rob Taylor also disappointed with a too-embellished "A Song For You."

Team Blake's Corey Kent sang "Unwound" with a pitchy delivery, while Sawyer Fredericks did decently with "Iris."

Team Christina's India Carney took on Whitney Houston's "Run to You" and delivered a performance that could have been better, but not enough to put her in the running for the Bottom Three.
