Gisele Bündchen's retirement from the catwalk was a huge loss, but the supermodel's stellar career is far from over. According to the Brazilian beauty's representatives, fans will see Bündchen exploring other modeling opportunities in the near future.

Anne Nelson, Bündchen's agent since 1998, first at Elite and then at IMG from 1999 onwards, said that the 34-year-old model doesn't want to do catwalk shows anymore, but said that she was only "clos[ing] the chapter on the Brazilian runway," The New York Times reported.

Nelson also added that Bündchen "would consider every opportunity in the future" and that "the runway would not be ruled out," The New York Times wrote.

"It is important that we continue to work on all kinds of capacities within the fashion industry," Nelson said, as quoted by the news outlet. "It's also important that as her representative we bring every interesting opportunity her way. We'll continue to do exactly that going forward."

IMG represents Bündchen in New York, London, Milan, and Paris, while her twin sister, Patricia, represents the supermodel in Brazil. Bündchen rarely appeared in fashion week runways in recent years, but had much-publicized appearances during the times she was in one, frequently "those for which she also booked ads," the news outlet added.

"I think a lot of people will still want her on the runway," Nelson further explained, as reported by The New York Times. "Will she want to do it? That's a whole other story. It would have to come within an interesting angle, a unique opportunity. Will she do it? I can't guarantee that. But that people will call for her, yes."

According to The New York Times, famous models "tapering off their runway appearances is standard practice." This is because catwalk shows are poorly paid, but if often leads to recognition and eventually to ad campaigns, which is the modeling business' most profitable prize.

Anita Bitton, the fashion-industry casting director who worked with Bündchen for Alexander Wang and Balenciaga, described the supermodel as "desirable" and someone who "constantly reinvents herself," the news outlet reported.

Revealing the reason why she quit doing runway shows, Bündchen said that she has learned to listen to her body, adding that it "asked her to stop," Yahoo! News reported fromAFP. The Colcci show at São Paulo Fashion Week saw Bündchen's last catwalk appearance.

"I respect my body, it's a privilege to be able to stop runway work," she told the Brazilian newspaper Folha de São Paulo, Yahoo! News quoted.

Named by Forbes as the world's highest-paid model, Bündchen is also set to release a coffee table book chronicling her two-decade-long career, The New York Times wrote.

Bundchen worked with esteemed brands such as Victoria's Secret, Chanel, Stuart Weitzman, H&M, Pantene, Valentino, Givenchy, Versace, and Louis Vuitton, Fox News Latino reported.
