The next iPod Touch 6th Gen is rumored to come out in two variants. According to Master Herald, the new music device is expected to come out in two sizes. The first variant is one with a 4.7-inch screen while the other is larger with a 5.5-inch display size.
Fans can expect an excellent resolution as the device would have Retina display, a feature present in most Apple devices. Master Herald claims that the new iPod Touch would indeed be powerful, even dubbing it as a "fully-loaded entertainment device."
It has been years since the release of the previous iPod Touch, so much is expected from the next generation of iPod Touch. Master Herald said it will boast of many new Apple features. One of these "many firsts," according to the news site, is the Apple Pay which was just recently introduced together with the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The new music device is also rumored to be more powerful than its predecessors as it would get a "better" and "faster" A9 processor. Aside from this, it is also believed that it would come out with iOS 9. The report also highlighted the possibility of the device getting Apple's digital assistant Siri and better security features including the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. As for the camera, the device is expected to get an 8-megapixel main camera. It is also said to get 1 GB of RAM. It is also said to be water-resistant.
Master Herald said in a separate report that this is a "not-so-special feature" due to the number of devices that already has the same capability. But, it is still note-worthy because the music gadget itself is unique.
"The Apple Watch for instance is water-resistant but it is very common for many timepieces to have the same capability. And so are some other current mobile devices. But looking at the present and even recent roster of music and media player devices, it would be nearly improbable to identify one that has the water-resistant feature, which makes the Apple iPod Touch 6th Generation truly unique," to quote the news outlet.
Aside from the size variants, fans will also be able to choose from different colors. They can choose from silver, pink, red, blue, space grey, and yellow. Plus, Master Herald is also suggesting that it might be possible to include a white or gold version of the device.
The price of the iPod Touch 6th Gen is expected to start at $250. It is said to come out this September. Apple has yet to confirm these rumors.
