CANADA

The unlocked iPhone 5 will ship in 3 to 4 weeks in Canada from Apple in both Black &Slate and White & Silver color variations, according to Apple's Canadian official site.

The 16GB device will be priced at $699, the 32 at $799, and the 64 at $899 (Canadian Dollars).

Bundled with the unlocked iPhone 5 are Apple Earpods, a Lightning to USB Cable, a USB Power Adapter, a one-year limited warranty, and 90 days of telephone service. Apple's site notes that if you're traveling abroad, the nano-SIM card is not bundled with the iPhone 5, "so you'll need to get one from any supported GSM carrier worldwide."

USA

In the U.S., the Verizon iPhone 5, which is available now, is the only unlocked option and can be activated to support any GSM wireless network. However, not all service providers support LTE.  The iPhone 5 is the first Apple device that Verizon shipped unlocked.

With carrier subsidies, the price of the smartphone is slashed to $199.99, $299.99, and $399.99 for the respective memory sizes.

Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T all offer LTE service for the device.

The iPhone 5 features a 4-inch Retina display, runs on iOS 6, and sports a dual-core A6 processor that is reportedly twice as fast as the iPhone 4S's chip. FaceTime addicts will appreciate the 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera and the 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. The operating system also features an updated version of the popular voice assistant, Siri, as well as more advanced social media integration than the iPhone 4S.
