Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are not just partners in real life but on-cam as well.  Apparently, Gosling did not only have Mendes star in his movie, "Lost River"; he also got her as intern in the movie's costume department and production design team, a source revealed.

According to US Magazine, Mendes' role suits her, considering her eye for fashion. When Gosling was asked about Mendes' participation, he shared, "She was around when I was writing it and she was very helpful in many aspects of the process."

He added, "She interned with the costume department, and with the production design team and she was also acting in it, so she wore a lot of hats on the film."

Apparently, this isn't the first time that the couple is working together in a film. The Hollywood stars fell in love while filming the movie "The Place Beyond The Pines" back in 2012.

Bustle notes that Mendes seems to be working just fine -- multitasking acting and doing the internship in the movie. Fashion seems to be her passion, which is quite evident in her business ventures.

Her passion in fashion wasn't put to waste when she launched a Macy's home décor brand called "Vida" with ex-boyfriend George Augusto in 2008 and her recent clothing line called "The Eva Mendes Collection" for New York & Company.

"I think one of the great things about being an actress nowadays is we can wear so many hats. If you're creative in one area it usually seeps into another, like my home. I feel like my home is a set in a way - a lived-in set. I love to production design my own home," Bustle quotes Mendes as saying.

And it seems that Mendes isn't the only person who's triumphed in novel fields. In a People interview, Gosling shared about directing, "You're constantly acting like there's not a problem. There's always a problem. Everything's always going wrong and you're always acting like it is fine".

Gosling mentioned that he travelled around Detroit for a year with a camera shooting footage. He eventually realized that he had just created a movie so he hired actors and writers to develop the project.

Other cast members for "Lost River" are Ben Mendelsohn, Christina Hendricks, Iain de Caestecker, Saoirse Ronan and Matt Smith. According to Gosling, the residents of Detroit also play a huge role in the said movie.
