As the Houston Rockets get ready to step onto the court when their regular season begins Oct. 31 against the Detroit Pistons, Rockets star Jeremy Lin was set Friday to step in front of the cameras once again-this time, for an interview with "60 Minutes."

As the Houston Chronicle reported Friday, Jeremy Lin was at an interview with longtime newscaster Charlie Rose that day for an interview with CBS's legendary hour-long news segment.

The Chronicle caught up to Lin just before the interview, where the Asian superstar, who took the NBA-and the world-by storm last season during the sensational stretch of play while with the New York Knicks dubbed "Linsanity", seemed genuinely excited about stepping under the glare of the camera for an in-depth interview.

"It's a blessing from God," Lin told the Chronicle. "I'm going to answer their questions and do the interview, and I'm thankful for the opportunity."

The interview will air during the NBA season at a yet-to-be scheduled date, but hoops fans won't have to wait to get their early dose of Linsanity.

Lin opens up on a number of different topics-racism, the Knicks, and the Linsanity craze-in the latest edition of GQ magazine, which hits newsstands Oct. 23.

NBA PRESEASON Wrapup for Friday, Oct. 19

Kings 103, Lakers 98

Kobe Bryant scored 22 points and Steve Nash put in 8 points and 6 assists, but even that wasn't enough to prevent the Los Angeles Lakers (0-5) from snapping their five game losing skid as they fell to the Sacramento Kings (3-1) 103-98 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev.

As ESPN reports via the Associated Press, Kings shooting guard Marcus Thorton scored 19 points and center DeMarcus Cousins put up 18 for the Kings.

However, despite the Lakers' slide, relief may be on the way sooner than expected. New Laker Dwight Howard-acquired in a blockbuster four-team deal this past summer-will attempt to play in rematch with the Kinds Sunday in Sacramento.

However, the decision on giving the go-ahead to Howard, who had back surgery in April, will be determined by the team's medical staff.

Raptors 107, Knicks 88

It was a bad night for the New York Knicks (2-1) as they dropped their first preseason game against their division rival Toronto Raptors (3-1) 107-88 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, PQ.

However, amid the deflating 19-point loss, the Knicks received a glimmer of positive news with the return of star forward Amar'e Stoudemire, making his preseason debut after sitting out with a bruised knee the last two games and scoring 18 points for the Knicks.

Afterwards, Stoudemire indicated that he felt good to be back in action.

"It felt great to be back out there, and get back in the swing of things," Stoudemire told the Associated Press. "It was a great feeling."

Forward Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 24 points while center Andrea Bargnani scored 20 points for the Raptors.

Bargnani, making a return of his own after sustaining a calf injury, spoke of his injury after the game.

"Last game that was really just a hit, a hard hit on the calf, so we just decided it wasn't worth it to keep playing limping," Bargnani said. "So I took some therapy but it's nothing like last year."

Toronto hosts Milwaukee on Monday night, while the Knicks take on the Boston Celtics in Albany, N.Y., on Saturday night.

Magic 112, Pacers 96

The second half belonged to the Orlando Magic (1-4) who took their first win of the preseason after beating the Indiana Pacers (2-2) 112-96 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.

Orlando controlled the entire second half, up by as many as 19 points at one point and shooting 54.9 percent in field goals. The Pacers, by contrast, connected on only 40.4 percent shooting, and missing 17 shots from three-point range.

Magic power forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis scored 21 for the Magic while point guard Jameer Nelson posted 15 for Orlando. Backup power forward Tyler Hansbrough led the Pacers with 23 points while starting forwards David West and Paul George chipped in with 13 points for Indiana.

76ers 106, Nets 96

Reserve Thaddeus Young had a huge night for the Philadelphia 76ers (4-1) as he led the Sixers to a 106-96 win over the Brooklyn Nets (3-2) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. N.Y.

The 76ers led by as much as 12 points in the third quarter but the Nets battled back to cut the deficit to 97-96 with 3:07 remaining in the game after a pair of free throws by center Brook Lopez, who led the Nets with 23 points and nine rebounds.

But Young, who finished with 24 points, answered for Philadelphia with a fadeaway jumper to make it 99-96 and Sixers small forward Dorell Wright followed with two free throws to put Philadelphia ahead at 101-96 with 2:06 remaining. Nets point guard Deron Williams finished with 22 points.

Bulls 92, Timberwolves 81

The Chicago Bulls improved to 3-2 on the preseason as they outmatched the Minnesota Timberwolves (3-2) 92-81 at the United Center in Chicago, Ill.

This marked the first game the Wolves played without their star forward Kevin Love, who broke his hand Wednesday and is expected to miss six weeks of action.

Chicago was leading by as much as 15 points by halftime, with Bulls power forward Carlos Boozer, who finished with 24 points, scored 11 of his 18 second half points in the second quarter, and they never looked back.

Minnesota center Greg Stiemsma scored 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for the Timberwolves, while small forward Andrei Kirilenko led the Wolves with 12 points.

Thunder 107, Suns 97

The Oklahoma City Thunder (2-2) remained perfect at home in the preseason after beating the Phoenix Suns (2-2) 107-97 at the Bok Center in Tulsa, Okla.

The stars were out for the Thunder in front of a sellout crowd of 18, 233 as Kevin Durant scored 22 points and All-Star Russell Westbrook added 18 points of his own.

Meanwhile, the Thunder rested sixth man James Harden with a groin pull and starters Kendrick Perkins and Thabo Sefolosha, all vital parts of last year's Oklahoma City campaign that led them to the NBA Finals.

Durant and Westbrook combined for 14 points and put Oklahoma City ahead 24-18 lead in the first quarter before taking the bench. The two returned for the final four minutes of the half and Westbrook connected on an off-balance three-point dagger as time expired to give the Thunder a 46-45 lead at halftime.

Suns forward Wesley Johnson led the Suns with 15 points.

Warriors 101, Trail Blazers 97

The Golden State Warriors (5-1) continue to look impressive as they beat the Portland Trail Blazers (2-3) in a 101-97 thriller at the Rose garden in Portland, Ore.

Portland guard Sasha Pavlovic put the Blazers within one point after hitting a three-pointer to make it 96-95 with a minute left in the final quarter, but Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson put up a free throw to keep the Blazers up by two points with 40 seconds left.

Former Knick David Lee led Golden State with 24 points while Blazers power forward LaMarcus Aldridge was the top scorer for Portland with 18 points.
