Robert Griffin III is already getting some sound parenting advice even before his baby comes out.

TMZ Sports reported that the quarterback of the Washington Redskins talked about how he has been getting a lot of advice from people on becoming a parent. TMZ initially approached RG3 and congratulated him on expecting a new baby. In February 2015, Griffin and his wife Rebecca Liddicoat announced that the latter was pregnant. TMZ assumed that Rebecca is already in her second trimester, since most couples make the official announcement near the end of the first trimester.

Griffin married Rebecca, a native of Colorado, on July 6, 2013. The baby will be their first. Based on another TMZ report, Griffin made the big announcement during his 25th birthday in February, via Twitter.

He tweeted, "BIG thank you for making this birthday a special day!!! This year's gift will change our life forever!!! #BoyOrGirl". The quarterback added a photo of himself kissing his wife's belly. Rebecca's left hand was at her waist, revealing a ring with a huge diamond. The ring and baby news put rumors to rest that the couple might be in a shaky relationship.

TMZ asked what was the most frequent advice he has been getting from married couples regarding his future parenthood.

RG3 answered, "They tell me to get a lot of sleep. That's what they're telling me." Before leaving, he told the camera, "I'll be taking care of my baby and my wife."

Griffin's baby, whose sex is yet to be known, might arrive by the end of August, just before the 2015 NFL season starts.

Griffin was the No. 2 overall pick by the Washington Redskins in 2012 and proved his mettle by being awarded the 2012 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Since playing for the Redskins, Griffin has garnered 8,097 passing yards, 1,480 rushing yards, 40 touchdown passes and 8 touchdown rushes. NFL.com reported that he averaged 8 passing yards in his last three seasons.

Sports World Report cited that coach Jay Gruden said that Griffin will enter the season as the starting quarterback over players like Colt McCoy and Kirk Cousins. Gruden mentioned that Griffin must show that he is worthy of the starting position or risk being rotated.

In the meantime, Griffin can improve his game and stay motivated by his upcoming baby. He has a few months left to enjoy uninterrupted sleep before making it a habit to change diapers in the middle of the night.
