The latest version of the Android OS is finally getting to more mobile devices, with the Samsung Galaxy S5, Note 3, and 4 as some of the most recent ones receiving the Lollipop 5.0 upgrade.

"The Android 5.0 Lollipop update has finally been rolled out by AT&T to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and its older version the Samsung Galaxy Note 3," Ecumenical News said. "The new Android update should help improve the stability and operation of the Galaxy Note 4."

The site added that the Lollipop roll out in the Galaxy Note 3 was "surprising" as the said device is already more than a year old. As such, it was anticipated that this model would receive the Android update much later than the newer handsets.

Verizon has also rolled out Lollipop to the Galaxy S5 recently, Tech Times said. It can be recalled that the telecommunications company had tried to roll out Android 5.0 about 2 months ago, but cut it short "due to user issues with the new OS on the device." But now, it appeared that the "new and improved" Lollipop was satisfactory enough for Verizon to release it to S5 handsets.

"Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce an operating system update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. This version brings Android beyond smartphones and tablets, allowing access to apps and Android services on other connected screens like TV's, cars and wearables. The new material design offers complex animations, 3-D views and improved runtime," the company's statement about the rollout read.

It is worth noting that the update won't arrive ASAP - users may have to wait a few days before the Lollipop version gets to their devices.

In case you've received the update on your S5 and also encountered some problems after the upgrade, you may neeed to do a "wipe chache partition," which "clears the cache of your Samsung Galaxy S5 and should fix most problems," Solvemix said. This won't delete files, in case you're worried, but you should be careful in doing this step so you won't mess up the settings in your device.

What you'll need to do is turn off your Galaxy S5 and wait for a few moments until the handset has shut down completely. Then, press Power On/Off, volume up, and the home button at the same time in turning on the smartphone again.

"If the Samsung Galaxy S5 vibrates once, release the power on/ off button, but keep the other two keys from the key combination pressed until a menu appears on the display," the site advised.

"Now mark the entry "Wipe cache partition" with the volume down key. With the power on / off button, the entry can be selected and the process will start," it added.

When the menu reappears, select "reboot system now" and wait for the smartphone to finish rebooting before you can use it as usual.

If these steps did not work, you may need to do a factory reset, which means you must back up your phone's files before you upgrade to Lollipop.
