The girl is definitely hard working. Off the heels of promoting animated flick "Home," in which she voices teen girl Tip and even helped out in the soundtrack department, Rihanna is rumored to be releasing her much anticipated album tomorrow.

Or that's what hopeful fans thought.

On Instagram, RiRi posted a photo simply captioned with the hashtags #BBHMM, #R8, and #March26, prompting many to believe the singer may be dropping her latest studio effort on Thursday.

"Fans have previously used #R8 on Twitter to discuss Rihanna's highly anticipated eighth album, and many are speculating that #BBHMM stands for 'B- Better Have My Money' a possible name for either a new single or album," Time said.

However, hours later, observers came to the conclusion that the teaser apparently was for her new single.

"Careful sleuthing revealed that the Frida Kahlo-inspired cover art was actually for Rihanna's new single," Vulture noted. "The Braille on the left side reads 'B**** Better Have My Money,' a reference to the debut album from early '90s rapper AMG, who just got slightly richer."

The confirmation that the teaser was indeed for a single came in the form of a tweet from the artist herself.

"Head to Dubsmash for my new single #BBHMM!!" her post read.

To do just that, you'll need to download Dubsmash from Google Play if you're an Android user or from iTunes if you're using an Apple device.

Aside from the announcement of her single, the 27-year-old posted a clip of Antonio Fargas in the 1988 flick "I'm Gonna Git You S****."

"The 15-second clip designed to further tantalise fans, showed Fargas on stage in a pink suit as his character Fly Guy repeatined the phrase, 'B**** Better Have My Money'," MailOnline observed.

In the last few weeks, RiRi had been teasing material from her upcoming record through social media - a strategy that increasingly appears to be the trend among artists now. As such, will she also be doing a Beyonce and drop her album without prior announcement?

Previously, Rihanna said that she wanted to make 'timeless songs,' the kind that "I could perform in 15 years."

"I just wanted to focus on things that felt real, that felt soulful, that felt forever," she was quoted by Capital FM as saying. "I find that when I get on stage now, I don't want to perform a lot of my songs, they don't feel like me. So I want to make songs that are timeless."

Speaking of "timeless," was this realization something that Beatle Paul McCartney, whom she collaborated with on "FourFiveSeconds," inspired in her?

Currently, no release date for her album has been revealed yet. Although it isn't certain which songs will be on the said record, it's been previously teased that "Higher" and FourFiveSeconds" may be included, as well as BBHMM. According to a leak, the songs "Kiss It Better," "All Night," "Ignite Me," "Ehh," "I Saw a Girl," "Intoxicated," "Overload," "Transducer," "Drive Alone," "Where I Belong" and "Burritos" may have a place in R8, according to KpopStarz.
