Microsoft is said to release a very powerful Lumia phone this year that could rival the most popular smartphones right now. The new handset is rumored to be called Nokia Lumia 1030, or as Science Times calls it, "McLaren."

Lumia 1030 might be a game-changer. Why? Because it's a device expected to possess specifications and characteristics we've never seen on any smartphone before. For instance, it is said to have a whopping 50 megapixel PureView main camera, according to the leaked details cited by Know your Mobile.

The same news outlet citing Nokia Power User said the camera which is accompanied by an LED flash instead of the usual Xenon flash is manufactured by Toshiba. However, Nokia Power User admitted that they too are skeptical about the leaked information.

Another exciting feature the device is expected to get is Microsoft's 3D technology.

Science Times said the new phone will likely have the Windows 10 in it. It is also said to boast of its Quad HD Display with resolution of 1440x2560. Its screen is said to measure 5.8 inches. The new device is said to be full metal one, making it really strong in any circumstances. It is also said to get a 2 GB of RAM.

Phone Arena said the new device would likely be taller and thicker in comparison with the recently released iPhone 6. The handset is said to get a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, a 32 GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot.

Lumia 1030 follows the footsteps of the already released Lumia 1020 which boasts of its 41 megapixel camera, 32 GB internal memory, 2 GB of RAM, 4G LTE Network, Windows Phone 8.1, dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4, and 2000 mAh battery. Its camera has the following features included in it: 6-lens optics, optical image stabilization, Xenon flash, and Backside-illuminated image sensor. It is also capable of high resolution zoom 3x.

When will we be able to see the Lumia device? Last year, several news sites including Phone Arena speculated that the device would likely come out at the Mobile World Congress. However, the event has passed by and we did not see the said device unveiled. Would this powerful phone still show up this year?

The Verge earlier said that the leaked photos of the Lumia 1030 were "genuine" though it was "simply a cancelled prototype." The Verge's sources also divulged that the device is said to have a 20-megapixel camera, not a 50-megapixel one. Are we sure about this? Are we not going to see the Lumia 1030? We don't know yet for sure. Nothing's still sure right now as Microsoft has not yet issued any statement regarding the matter.
