Veteran actor Johnny Depp was injured while in Australia. Will this cause a delay in the filming of his upcoming movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales"?

Variety has reported that Depp, who plays the lead role Captain Jack Sparrow in the movie series "Pirates of the Caribbean," has recently been injured. The news outlet also said that Depp will be sent back to the US for a surgery though it did not detail about the cause of the injury, but it was mentioned that the actor was not working when he got injured.

The Daily Mail said Depp got the "right wrist" injury after go-karting on a private track in the luxurious Coomera property owned by MotoGP world champion Mick Doohan. Depp reportedly was flown back to Los Angeles through a private jet.

The actor is said to be out of production for two weeks. His absence will not affect production as minimal scenes will be first shot. The Daily Mail has also confirmed that the film's release will not be delayed and will still push with July 2017.

Daily Mail has also learned that police and ambulance services in Queensland have not received any reports of the incident related to the actor's injury. "We did not have to make any response on the Gold Coast involving him," they were quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, the official synopsis of the much-awaited movie was just recently released. Here is the complete synopsis of the fifth "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie taken from the statement posted on Disney Blog:

Captain Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas."

The same statement also confirmed earlier reports about Javier Bardem, Kayla Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites, and Golshifteh Farahani being part of the fifth movie installment.
