The St. Louis Cardinals are looking to gain a second win on San Francisco territory against the Giants tonight.

The Cardinals won the first game Sunday night, 6-4, giving them the first win of the best of seven National League Championship Series.

The starting pitcher for the Cardinals will be right-handed pitcher Chris Carpenter. Carpenter previously pitched five shutout innings in Game 3 of their NLDS series. In previous games with the Giants, specifically 53 innings, Carpenter is 4-1 with an ERA of 3.57.

The Giants are looking for their right-handed pitcher Ryan Vogelsong to pitch another no-hitter like he did in the final four innings on their Game 3 in the NLDS series against the Cincinnati Reds. Tonight's game will be his second postseason appearance, ever, and has a 2-4 record with an ERA of 6.51 in the last 47-innings with the Cardinals. In the last 17-innings he pitched, he delivered 15 strikeouts and an ERA of 0.53.

As MLB.com noted, Vogelsong is looking to capitalize on tonight's home-field advantage.

"It's no secret, I've said in the past, that I definitely feed off the energy that this crowd brings," said Vogelsong. "I'm sure it's going to be pretty intense."

According to bookies, the Giants are likely to win tonight's game with Vogelsong on their side.

Game 2 of the NLCS will start at 8 p.m. EDT on local FOX broadcasting stations.
