Samsung Group seems to have hit its stride design-wise with the introduction of curved edges on its latest offerings in the past few months. And, based on Samsung (OTCMKTS:SSNLF) product strategy head Roh Tae Moon's statement Monday, it appears the South Korean company will make "the new technology continue to be a key part of the firm's mobile strategy moving forward," as noted by TechnoBuffalo.

So, are we going to expect an Edge version of the Galaxy Note 5? You bet.

"There is a possibility that Samsung will introduce the curved display for the Galaxy Note lineup," he was quoted by the site as saying during a press conference.

The question now is: Will Samsung be doing a double launch later this year with its flagship phablet as it did with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge?

There also are speculations as to whether the tech giant would produce a Galaxy Note 5 Edge. It can be recalled that the smartphone maker has already launched a phablet with such a feature, so it's likely that a new iteration will be released later this year, rather than fuse the curved-edge feature to the upgraded version of the flagship phablet.

"The Galaxy Note 5 probably won't arrive until late 2015, giving Samsung plenty of time to change its plans. But if the Galaxy S6 Edge is a success we won't be surprised to see a Note 5 Edge arrive later this year," TechnoBuffalo analyzed.

However, rumor has it that the Galaxy Note 5 will be sporting a flexible display, according to GottaBeMobile. "Samsung's also thought to be starting production on a 6-inch Ultra HD display at 700+ pixels per inch which could mean a shift from Quad HD resolution to UHD. UHD delivers 2160 x 3840 resolution," the site added.

Although there's not much word on Note 5, it's also speculated that the S6 and S6 Edge's features give clues on the specs of the upcoming phablet.

"With the arrival of these two new devices, we've seen Samsung focus on its design and its software," the tech news portal said. "Specifically, the company has shifted to a premium design language that features metal and glass. The design change does come with a few trade-offs though including a missing microSD card slot and a non-removable battery."

This could mean that the Note 5 may get a design upgrade, as well as some concessions that may lead to the removal of some standard features.
