At the rate those MacBook Air Retina rumors are going, Apple should be releasing it anytime soon. And indeed, recent reports have it that the Cupertino-based company may be unveiling the much-awaited computer at the March 9 "Spring Forward" event.

"It is obvious that the event is meant for Apple to finally disclose to the public and the whole world the much-anticipated Apple Watch in all its splendid and gorgeous details, even though the company has already confirmed that it would release the smart wearable to the retail markets in April," Master Herald said. "But Apple, based on its event history, does not just launch one product whenever it holds an event."

Hence, the MacBook Air Retina launch predictions.

As usual, Apple has not declared the official agenda for next week's affair, which only fueled those rumors. Plus, there's the revelation that the company "has ceased restocking some of its MacBook Air shipments, and sellers have been instructed to slash the price of existing 11- and 13-inch models," according to BostInno. As such, it would appear that a new iteration of the company's notebook may be announced very soon.

While some peg a March 9 launch, others have forecast a late March unveiling.

KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reportedly said that the new MacBook Air may be presented by the end of this month, BGR noted.

"Kuo, often accurate about unreleased Apple products and future plans, did not reveal an actual release date for the rumored 12-inch Retina MacBook Air, but he did say the laptop will be launched this quarter and should help Apple increase Mac shipments by 2.6% this quarter, compared to the December period," the site said late January.

"Apple is expected to sell some 6 million Mac units in the first three months of 2015, slightly up from the 5.9 million forecast for the fourth quarter of 2014," it added.

Reports have it that the upcoming MacBook Air will have a 12-inch screen and a Retina display. It will also have "iPhone features, specifically the TouchID fingerprint sensor and Apple Pay," as reported by Christian Today.

"The fingerprint sensor will be embedded in the laptop's trackpad," the site added.

Previously, it was reported that the upcoming notebook will be ultrathin and "come without a fan assembly for silent operation, made possible through the use of Intel's low power Core M processors," MacRumors said. "It may also include a revamped trackpad design that does not incorporate a mechanical button."
