WrestleMania 31 announced that there will be a ladder match where Bad News Barrett will defend his WWE Intercontinental Title.

WrestlineInc wrote that WWE made the announcement on its website and that the number of challengers and WWE stars who will make an attempt at the title will be unveiled in the weeks leading to the big event.

Inquisitr reported that many fans believed that Bad News Barrett was going head-to-head against Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 31 after the latter lost by disqualification at WWE Fast Lane. Most likely, Ambrose will be one of the challengers in the said ladder match.

Although a five-man ladder match was initially expected, CagesideSeats reported that the possible participants will also include Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth and Daniel Bryan. Adding a sixth challenger would make the ladder match reminiscent of the "Money in the Bank" ladder matches which were quite popular at WrestleMania for many years until the match was provided its own pay-per-view. The last ladder match that happened was actually in 2010 at WrestleMania 26 at the "Showcase of the Immortals". Fans are highly anticipating its return on March 29, 2015.

Nick Paglino of WrestleZone wrote that Daniel Bryan is better off contending in the ladder match that having a singles match against Sheamus. WWE seemed to have removed the possibility of Bryan facing Dolph Ziggler, so it would be great to see him contend for the Intercontinental Title instead. However, some fans remain positive that there may be new developments in the following weeks to still make a singles match happen between Bryan and Ziggler.

The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal may happen again at WrestleMania 31 to introduce new mid-card talents to WWE. The ladder match for the Intercontinental Title will add to the excitement, based on the same report by Inquistr.

Ambrose believes that he deserves to be champion, R-Truth garnered one win against Barrett, while Ziggler is the latest who beat Barrett. Fans expect Ambrose to leave the ladder match victorious. Bryan will most likely beat Barrett to earn a claim for the match, while the WWE might add another mid-card wrestler to the match to make it a six-man battle.

Bleacher Report wrote that Barrett has been in a string of losses since winning the Intercontinental Title so it is very likely that he will also lose the ladder match.

WrestleMania 31 is set to commence on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Meanwhile, check out Barrett's February 23 fight against Dolph Ziggler.
