Though Apple has not yet confirmed the arrival of the rumored iPod Touch 6th Generation, many fans can no longer wait to see what improvements and upgrades have been included in the next music device. Not to keep you waiting, here are some of the reasons why the next iPod Touch 6th Generation will be better than its predecessors based on the speculations making the rounds in the Internet.

1. New sizes

Potential buyers will surely have more choices this time as rumors are suggesting that the new iPod Touch 6th Generation would come out in two sizes. Master Herald reported that the new device could be available in the same sizes of the recently released iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus -- one with a 4.7 inch display and another with a 5.5 inch. Note that the current iPod Touch 5th Generation is only available on one screen size -- 4 inches diagonally. Its height is at 4.86 inches, width at 2.31 inches, and depth at 0.24 inch. It weighs 3.10 ounces. There are still no speculations regarding iPod Touch 6th Gen's dimensions and weight.

2. More colors

It is believed that the new iPod Touch 6th Gen would also be available in two new colors -- gold and white -- aside from the current six colors. iPod Touch 5th Gen is available in six colors: space grey, yellow, blue, red, pink, and silver. However, Stabley Times said there is a possibility that Apple would go for new colors, ditching the "day-glo colors" similar to the iPhone 5C due to its "relative failure."

3. More powerful

The new iPod Touch 6th Gen is expected to be more powerful than its predecessor as it would be packed with a new processor. Christian Today says it is likely that the new device would get an A8 processor chip or the more advanced A9 processor. Note that the current iPod Touch 5th Gen has the dual-core A5 chip.

4. Better battery life

Stabley Times said the new music device would likely get more battery life than its predecessor. The iPod Touch 5th Gen could last for up to 40 hours during music playback time and up to 8 hours during video playback time. The built-in rechargeable battery can be charged for at least 4 straight hours.

5. Apple Pay

News outlets are also speculating that the upcoming iPod Touch would likely get Apple's new mobile payment service Apple Pay. Of course, the iPod Touch 5th Gen does not have this feature. Current products which have this feature are iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPad Air 2.

A separate report from Stabley Times said that the release of the next iPod Touch 6th Gen is "imminent" after it noticed that Apple dropped the ship times of the 64 GB version of the current iPod Touch 5th Gen to 4-6 business days.

Huge improvements are really expected from the next generation of iPod Touch as it has been more than two years since the release of the last iPod Touch 5th Gen. It is believed that the new iPod Touch 6th Gen would be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this March though there are also rumors that it might come out this April alongside the Apple Watch or this September. We don't know yet for sure as Apple has not yet commented on the matter. Would you like a new iPod Touch to come out? Share us your thoughts by hitting the comments section!
