Samsung is hitting New York City (NYC) with an event of the Galaxy Note 2 later this month.

According to multiple reports, Samsung has confirmed it will host an event to launch the Galaxy Note 2 in the US on Oct. 24.

The US debut follows the IFA 2012 debut back in August in Berlin, Germany.

Speculation of the event started a couple weeks ago when an advertisement with the phrase "The Next Big Thing Is Here" appeared online with the S-Pen stylus, the Oct. 24 date, NYC, and a start time of 7 p.m.

The latest Note device started selling in several European and Asian countries with a price tag of $750, unlocked. According to Pop Herald, the Galaxy Note 2 is expected to have the same price as the Galaxy S3 with $199.99 as the starting price.

US Cellular is already accepting preorders with a $299.99 price when signing a two-year contract.

Some of the features of the Galaxy Note 2 "phablet" is the 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD screen, 1,280x720 pixel resolution, eight-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, the Android Jelly Bean operating system, 4G LTE, 3,100mAh battery, and available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB internal storage.

The Galaxy Note 2 will be available for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and US Cellular.

Samsung is projecting 20 million Galaxy Note 2 units to be sold by the end of the year.
