Nintendo's Wii U will launch on November 18 with 23 promising launch titles.

PS3 and Xbox 360 fans will get to play Assassin's Creed 3 on October 30, and Nintendo fans will not be left out like in the past as a Wii U version of the game will launch with the console on November 18. Like 'Batman:Arkham City', Assassin's Creed 3 will also get some exclusive features that are specific to the Wii U and are meant to enhance the game experience.

Gamepad Functionality

According to Ubisoft's own Alex Hutchinson the game could actually be better on the Wii U due to the fact that the map is displayed on the Gamepad throughout the game.

"Assassin's Creed 3 is obviously an open world game and we're dealing with huge expanses. It's by far the biggest Assassin's Creed we've built to date so having a map - a larger map - at your disposal at all times is a big win. It allows you to plan your navigation, see when enemies are nearby so the bigger the map, the better in our universe," Hutchinson said back in June.

Another feature exclusive to the Wii U Gamepad is that during naval battles the controller acts as radar and enables gamers to see other incoming enemy ships. Players could also see where their planned shots would hit using the gamepad.

Hutchinson also added that the gamepad gives gamers quick access to their wide ranging arsenal without having to go to the menu.

Back in September, NowGamer stated that Assassin's Creed 3 was the most impressive looking title running on the Wii U and stated that "Ubisoft knows how to handle the console." They also noted that the controls were simple and that steering the ship and firing cannons was "easy and extremely enjoyable."

The game is set in an alternate universe Colonial America during the years of the American Revolution where the player controls a young half-English, half-Native American man named Connor Kenway who joins the war when his home is attacked by colonists. Over the course of the game, players will encounter a plethora of historical figures including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Charles Lee, Israel Putnam, Paul Revere, General Lafayette, John Pitcairn, William Prescott, King George III, Samuel Adams and Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben. There are even rumors that players may eventually have to kill George Washington who becomes a tyrant king.
