Three years after first "American Idol" champ Kelly Clarkson released her last studio effort (and we mean the one with the original material), the singer is back with a new album.

Fans of the 32-year-old artist can now start breathing easy.

"Kelly Clarkson has announced the release date of 'Piece By Piece,' her sixth studio album and follow-up to 2011's 'Stronger'," Billboard reported. "The new LP, which was preceded by the single 'Heartbeat Song,' is due out March 3 on RCA Records."

The 3-year hiatus is down to the fact that the singer had tied the knot with talent manager Brandon Blackstock late in 2013 and gave birth to River Rose in June last year, according to People. She also became a mother to stepchildren Savannah, 13, and Seth, 8.

Notably, Kelly had mentioned that while she was not making records, she "had a baby," which she pointed out "takes time," as shown in her tweet about the matter.

It should also be mentioned that the artist had worked on a Christmas album, "Wrapped in Red," and launched her singles compilation called "Greatest Hits - Chapter One" during the three-year-gap.

Kelly first hinted at her upcoming studio effort in September last year, when she mentioned her next album while responding to a fan's tweet, according to People.

"Yes. I'm so proud of my next album! Might have a special guest on the album ....maybe :) Doesn't come out until early next year," her post said.

Earlier, Billboard noted that the singer had dropped more hints about "Piece by Piece," saying that her record may be a combination of the various types of music she loves.

"People keep asking. My next album is pop. But I am always influenced by music I love, which is pop- rock/country/r&b/dance #whoknowswhatsnext," she tweeted.

She also hinted about a duet on the said album.

"Oh and people also keep asking about the duet on the record. Here's a hint ....this wasn't our first time to sing together :)," her Twitter post read.

Currently, Kelly has been keeping her fans entertained with brand new single "Heartbeat Song," which was released January 12.

"'Heartbeat Song' debuted at No. 37 on last week's Hot 100 chart, while the interest in the single helped Clarkson debut at No. 45 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart," Billboard said. "The new single scored the third-best Hot 100 debut of Clarkson's 25 career entries."
