The Mac is one of Apple's most popular and in demand products, and with so many Apple products set to come out this year, consumers are interested to know if Apple has any plans on adding a new product to its Mac line, PC Advisor reported.

The PC market is currently struggling with reports of declining sales and interest, but the Mac has been able to wade through the worst of the news and come out on top. With an update set for the one-year-old Mac Pro and a new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air with Retina display coming out soon, some want to know if a Mac Mini 3 2015 is in the cards.

Here are five of the rumors concerning the specs, features and details of the mysterious 2015 model, especially when compared to its predecessors:

1. Better graphics, improved connectivity and energy efficient: This is the easiest rumor to get out of the way as these are improvements noted with the latest Mac Mini. In fact, Apple's Phil Schiller called it the world's most energy efficient desktop computer, according to The Verge. Suffice to say that Apple will make sure to continue the trend with its new update.

2. Increased processing performance: One of the criticisms of the previous Mac Mini was that it ended up being slower than the original due to the choice of CPUs, moving from the Ivy Bridge processor to the dual core Haswell, according to Christian Today. That's quite a step down for Apple, so they'll definitely have to make changes for the Mac Mini 3.

3. Greater RAM: When consumers realized that they would be unable to upgrade the device's memory once purchased, it was considered one of the downsides to the latest Mac Mini. An extra $300 was needed to get the maximum 16GB of RAM, and even cheaper third party alternatives were unavailable, according to Tek Revue. If Apple wants to keep consumers happy, they'll need to offer either cheaper fees or greater RAM.

4. Affordable Prices: The entry level Mac Mini that came out last year was priced at $499, with the mid-range version available at $699 and the high-end model at $999, according to Christian Today. Apple will most likely offer similar variations in either similar or more affordable pricing to appeal to more consumers.

5. Release Date: A previous report pegged it for a February 2014 launch date, which passed without a peep from Apple, and then a November 2014, which also showed no results, according to Youth Health Mag. However, the previous Mac Mini came out in October last year, taking more than two years to complete, so a Mac Mini 3 may come out sometime given another two year gap, according to PCAdvisor

Interested consumers should remember though that all the information so far are still rumors and that no substantial and confirmed information about the release of the product is known as of the moment. Apple always keeps mum and never comments on speculations, so people are left to wait and find out when they'll get their hands on the Mac Mini 3.
