Apple is set to release this year the iPod Touch 6th Generation, dubbed as the "perfect" music device.

According to the January 21 report of the Master Herald, users no longer have to ask for more for the latest iPod Touch 6th Generation is truly a "fully-loaded entertainment device."

Christian Today predicts that the new iPod will officially be unveiled by the Cupertino-based giant this March during the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 event in Barcelona, Spain. Master Herald says it is likely that the launch will coincide with the unveiling of the Apple Watch and of the new operating system, maybe an update of the iOS 8 or a new iOS 9.

Apple may actually have launched the new iPod Touch 6th Generation in 2014, notes Master Herald, but it did not pushed on it since it really wanted to showcased a "perfect music device" which will definitely outshine its other predecessors. Note that the current iPod Touch 5th Generation was unveiled back in September 2012. So it is expected that the new iPod Touch to be released this year would indeed boast of huge improvements and new features.

Two sizes

The new iPod Touch 6th Generation is rumored to come in two sizes, just like the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Master Herald says the device will have a 5.5 inch version and a 4.7-inch variant.

Features

Christian Today said the new iPod will likely to get an A8 processor chip, though there are also those that say that it would probably get an A9 processor. Aside from that, the news outlet also states that it would likely have Apple's new mobile payment service, the Apple Pay.

As for the colors, it is expected that the new iPod will still have the same colors as its predecessors. This includes space grey, yellow, blue, red, pink, and silver. Though it is also likely that a gold or a white one comes out this year.

Like iPhone 6?

It has been noticed that the iPod Touch 6th Generation's features look quite similar to that of the iPhone 6's. If this happens, there is a probability that Apple's iPod sales could go down since more people would definitely go for a more powerful and capable device like the iPhone 6.

Price

As for the price, Master Herald is looking at a $250 16GB Apple iPod Touch 6th Generation. Meanwhile, the price of the 64 GB version could go a little higher to $300 and the 128 GB much more higher than $250. When it comes to competition, Apple's iPod looks much cheaper than Sony's Walkman ZX2 which is priced at $1,200 when it launched during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015 event at Las Vegas last January.
