The next installment of the "Naruto: Ultimate Ninja" series will be launched this year.

According to Christian Today, "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4," the sixth of the series, will soon be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One via Steam. There is still no exact date for the release but the report said the game, which will be published by Bandai Namco Games, is still being developed by CyberConnect2. The game is a direct sequel to the "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3."

The 2015 launch date for the "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" was confirmed by Game Dev Cyberconnect2's president Hiroshi Matsuyama through a Twitter post last December 15. The statement when translated into English states, "Today, it was officially announced! 'Ultimate Ninja Storm 4'! Appearing on the PS4! Not on the PS3. I have completely developed this as a next-generation title. You can experience the demo over the weekend at Jump Festa 2015, so by all means, please try it out! Can you wait for this amazing experience!?" Here is Matsuyama's original tweet:

To date, no futher details about the game have been officially announced. Not much has been revealed about gameplay mechanics, new features, and visual improvements. However, Anime News Network citing the February issue of V Jump magazine reported that the new "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" will have the "largest number of fighters in the series history." It noted that it will not only feature those characters included in the Hajirama-Madara fight but it will also have the characters from "The Last: Naruto the Movie." These new playable characters include Naruto, Hinata, Sakura, and Sasuke. Anime News Network also says that the recreation of the Shinobi World War will also be highlighted in the new installment.

Aside from this new awesome roster of characters, Bandai Namco Games also promised that the new game will feature new gen platforms and a "whopping series of beautifully Anime-rendered fights."

Bandai Namco Games America Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Chris Gilbert meanwhile was quoted by Crossmap saying, "'The Ultimate Ninja Storm' series continues to be one of our most popular franchises and its leap to the new generation of hardware ensures that it won't stop now."

He added, "CyberConnect 2 has always poured their hearts into the Naruto franchise and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 promises to be an ultimate realization of the series so far."

Bandai Namco Games says that they have already sold over 12 million "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm" games worldwide. Watch the game's official trailer here:
