While most people get their piercings at a more generic, less painful areas of their bodies, Christina Milian opted to have her more sensitive body parts pierced.

"It was a little bet between my mom and I," she told Hollywood Life. "Not a bet, but a promise. It was the weirdest promise between a mother and a daughter. I'm trying to get her out of her [shell]- I guess I had her do that just to see, like, hey mom come out of her element. You never know what life has to bring. Be open to a nipple piercing or something!"

What a way to get one's mother to come out of her element. Or maybe that stunt was made to boost ratings for her reality show "Turned Up"?

Nevertheless, the singer confessed that the ordeal was more painful than giving birth. She should know - she's given birth to daughter Violet nearly 5 years ago.

"Getting my nipple pierced was definitely worse than childbirth," she was quoted by ET as saying. "It was quicker though. Childbirth, 19 hours; piercing, two seconds."

"She wasn't the only one in her family to have something done at the tattoo parlor," the site went on to say. "Her mother Carmen Milian, who's referred to as 'G,' gets inked as a present from her daughter."

The 33-year-old unleashed "very painful screams" during the procedure, the New York Daily News said.

"Overall the entire procedure took less than 30 seconds," the publication added.

Come to think of it, does this herald the arrival of a new Kardashian-like reality TV star? If you ask Christina, she'll probably hope that will be the case, as her new show is "about her reviving her career after a long hiatus," as noted by the New York Daily News.

"When I took time off to raise Violet, it brought me career to a screeching halt. I'm excited to get back out on stage and for the world to hear the songs I'm writing right now. This is my last chance. I know what I want. Nothing's going to stop me now," she revealed.

She definitely didn't let her fear hold her back from that painful nipple piercing!

"Turned Up" also features Christina's 2 siblings, Danielle and Lizzy. The two reportedly "harbor some resentment toward their mother for leaving to go on the road and travel with Christina," E! News said.

Sounds like a plot that will attract reality-TV fans like bees to honey.
