Samsung has received some good news in regards to their Galaxy Tab 10.1 following their ongoing patent infringement trial with Apple.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is no longer banned in the US.

The decision comes as a jury found Samsung did not infringe on Apple's iPad design when the Galaxy Tab 10.1 launched.

Judge Lucy Koh who initially granted the ban back in June, wrote, "The public has no interest in enjoining a non-infringing product, and thus any market disruption caused by dissolution would be insignificant compared to Samsung's interest in restoring its product to market."

Samsung issued a statement following the decision.

"We are pleased with the court's action, which vindicates our position that there was no infringement of Apple's design patent and that an injunction was not called for."

Judge Koh has previously stated the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is "virtually indistinguishable" from the iPad.

Apple has not yet commented. However, Fortune reports Apple has filed a motion known as Rule 50, granting the judge the right to overrule the jury. A hearing on Apple motion is set for Dec. 6.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 was released in 2011, but a new version - Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, is already for sale.

Samsung still has to pay Apple $1.05 billion and could still see several of their devices banned in the future following Apple's US patent infringement victory in San Francisco in August.
