If you're an iOS 6 user, or potentially considering upgrading to the latest Apple mobile operating system (OS), do note that the YouTube app that has previously been pre-installed is no longer featured.

As Latinos Post reported, Google and Apple failed to negotiate on a new agreement to have YouTube automatically installed in Apple's new OS. Apple has also removed Google's Maps app and StreetView capabilities.

The decision has not been too popular among some reviewers, but Google has worked to provide a YouTube that iOS 6 users can download.

Latinos Post has noted the lack of YouTube could provide opportunities for other video apps such as Squrl, ShowYou, and VidYou.

But what are reviewers saying about the YouTube alternatives?

Squrl: Price - Free

Squrl touts itself as "the best way to watch and discover video."

No signup is necessary as you can select videos that interest you and connect with friends where you can see what they are watching as well.

The user reviews:

JohnJasper: Amazing app - just like Flipboard for video but with great playback. Somehow they've put together content channels I haven't seen elsewhere and they are AMAZING.

Capedape: Great design and features. Keeps getting better too.

Distro101: Wonderful app! Free! A modern day ninja couldn't go without this app. Choose the category you interested in and the videos will show up, perfect UI. 5/5

Arirang: Its awesome no doubt but is [it] just me or everybody else that this app is just for portrait orientation only??? Curious....and please update if that's possible!!! :)

Marosci: It's an interesting app but too unstable on my third-gen iPad.

ShowYou: Price - Free

ShowYou proclaims itself as the "best way to browse videos from YouTube, Vimeo, TED and more."

It has been recognized by ABC News, Huffington Post, TechCrunch, and Wired.

ShowYou noted it'll give you "the best videos on the web, selected by your friends and people you care about, and puts them in the palm of your hand."

The user reviews:

Dap mc: Perfect for the everyday social butterfly who doesn't have the time to watch everyone's time line.

Nunyerbidniss: ShowYou is absolutely gorgeous on iPhone 5. Excellent work on the design and the performance. A joy to use!

Capt'n Sky & Gwyndolen: My everyday GoTo Video app.

Aaron1192: I've just downloaded this week organized, slick app. However I can't hear any sound in my iPhone 4S running iOS 6.

Tito T Panicker: Waste of time.

Vidyou: Price - Free

For Vidyou, it includes video from more than 250 of the world's most popular websites and users have the option to customize and subscribe to channels.

Vidyou noted its videos are synced with all Apple devices and can connect to social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr.

The user reviews:

Aen Tan: It feels like Flipboard but almost more addictive because it's video. Great job.

Garrett Russell: This is a sleep app that runs great! I highly recommend an option to turn auto play OFF. It's a little jarring when videos suddenly start playing. But overall, a great app, thanks for making it free!

Ambika Bhargava: The app is so useful and easy to use. Highly recommended.

Tomboy2330: Too many buttons, too many options. I couldn't get to the types of videos I wanted to see. Maybe they'll update this version to make it easier to navigate. Didn't crash a lot, but other video apps are better.

JosueRuiz: Videos can't never load! Its always loading; it doesn't matter if I'm on 4(hspa AT&T) or wifi, it won't load ugh.

Have you downloaded any of the three apps? Let us know if you recommend it or not.
