More plot details about the upcoming movie "Ant-Man" have been revealed.

Little has been known about the movie's storyline except that it was based on a comic book character. The video teasers, well, especially the ant-sized one, certainly did not provide a lot of details. The movie's first full trailer might have given us a glimpse of what will happen in the movie but it is definitely not enough.

Entertainment Weekly was able to talk with some of those involved in the movie, including Paul Rudd who plays the lead role, Scott Lang/Ant-man, and its director, Peyton Reed. They were also able to confirm some of the speculations hounding the film.

It was earlier believed that Lang's arrest has something to do with his ill daughter. It was speculated that he stole something from Pym Technologies that his daughter needs to get better but this will not happen in the movie.

"When we first meet Lang, he is in prison for stealing from the CEO of a company that was itself stealing from its employees...Lang longs to go straight-he has a young daughter he wants to build a relationship with-but when he leaves the big house, he ends up nabbing Pym's Ant-Man suit," Entertainment Weekly noted.

After Dr. Hank Pym was able to confirm Lang's "light-fingered bona fides," said EW, he then trains him to get back on his former protege, Darren Cross, by stealing the Yellowjacket suit he has created for himself. Pym's daughter, Hope Van Dyne, was there to assist the two in their plan.

Evangeline Lilly also has something to say about her Hope Van Dyne role: "She's not been in her father's life for a long time...So her arc in the movie-as Scott's is with his daughter-is trying to find a relationship."

Well it seems that the movie will indeed focus on family issues and some drama, but Reed and producer Brad Winderbaum vowed that viewers will definitely see more, including some awesome shrinking scenes.

Reed explains that the shrinking scenes are going to be "experiential." Winderbaum, on the other hand, talks about the technicalities -- macro photography and motion-capture technology. "There are cameras and lenses that make small areas look like the most epic landscapes...Then we're shooting motion capture with Paul to insert Ant-Man into those environments," he was quoted in EW's report.

Note that "Ant-man", from the name itself, is a superhero who has the ability to shrink to roughly the size of an ant but can punch with as much force as a normal sized person. According to Marvel, he also has the ability to communicate telepathically with insects.

Aside from Paul Rudd, the cast list includes Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, and Corey Stoll as Darren Cross. Also in the list are Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, John Slattery, Gregg Turkington, and T.I. The movie is based on the same Marvel comic character which was first published in 1962.

The movie will hit theaters on July 17, 2015.
