Nokia has a few devices set to launch in the fourth quarter of 2012, including the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920. According to Reuters, the devices will see a November release date.

Nokia is referring to the new Lumia series as the "next generation" with its unique lens, innovative design, and live tiles.

But what are the differences and similarities between the two Nokia devices?

Design Measurements:

Lumia 920: Length - 130.3mm, Width - 70.8mm, Depth - 10.7mm

Lumia 820: Length - 123.8mm, Width - 68.5mm, Depth - 9.9mm

Screen:

Lumia 920: 4.5-inch display size, screen resolution 1,280x768, with PureMotion HD+ display.

Lumia 820: 4.3-inch display size, screen resolution 800x480, with AMOLED-ClearBlack display. 

Both have an aspect ratio of 15:9, brightness control, ambient light detector, sunlight readability enhancements, "super" sensitive touch, and color boosting.

Hardware (Memory/Wireless Connectivity):

The two Nokia devices are very similar when it comes to Hardware. First the differences:

Lumia 920: Mass memory of 32GB, 7GB in SkyDrive, Battery model BP-4GW

Lumia 820: Mass memory 8GB, 7GB in SkyDrive, Battery model BP-5T

The similarities are many, including wireless connectivity with Near Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth 3.1, Wi-Fi Channel bonding, WLAN IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n, and Qi Wireless charging.

When it comes to connectors, both have a Micro-USB 2.0, 3.5mm Universal Audio Connector, and Micro-USB Charging and Data Connectors.

Both also have an internal memory of 1000MB.

Photography:

Lumia 920: The main (rear) camera has 8.7-megapixels, image stabilization, sensor type BSI, and short pulse high power dual LED.

Lumia 820: The main (rear) camera has eight-megapixels, and dual LED flash.

The rest are heavy similarities. The rear-facing camera has a resolution of 3,264x2,448 pixels, 4x digital zoom, JPEG/Exif image format, touch focus, landscape orientation, geo-tagging, auto and manual white balance, still image editor, and a True 16:9 sensor.

Video:

There are no differences for the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 smartphones when it comes its video recording. The Nokia devices have a video camera resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels, camera video frame rate of 30 frames per second, 4x zoom, video calling, video sharing, and a video player.

Browser:

Internet Explorer 10 is the default browser for the two Nokia smartphones. 

Navigation:

In a season where the iOS 6's Apple Maps has received criticism from users, Apple CEO Tim Cook has recommended Nokia Maps as an alternative.

The navigation features for both Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 devices are the same, with Nokia Maps, Drive, City Lens, and Transport.

Battery Time:

Lumia 920: Standby time 400 hours in 3G, talk time of 10 hours in 3G, six hours in video playback, 67 hours of music playback time.

Lumia 820: Standby time of 330 hours in 3G, talk time of eight hours, video playback time of five hours, and 55 hours of maximum music playback time.

Colors:

Lumia 920: Black, Gray, Red, Yellow, and White

Lumia 820: Black, Light Blue, Gray, Purple, Red, Yellow, and White
