Manchester City and Fulham face off on Saturday in a tilt between two teams tied for fift place with nine points.

Manchester City has had a rather subdued week after blowing a 2-1 lead to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Last weekend they drew with Arsenal in a match they should have had. They had better fortunes in the Carling Cup as they defeated Ashton Villa 4-2. Last season's Premier League Champions have gotten off to a decent start with nine points in 5 matches, but they have only won twice in five games. They drew to a pesky Stoke City and Liverpool in past matches with victories over Southhampton and the Queens Park Rangers their only W. Coach Roberto Mancini has proclaimed that they will win the title, but that remains to be seen with Chelsea off to a tremendous start and Manchester United off to an equally strong start.

Fulham meanwhile is without striker Dimitar Berbatov due to injury. The team is off to a solid start with nine points in five matches. They have won three of their matches against Norwich City, West Bromwich Albion, and Wigan Athletic. A win or draw with Man City would do a lot for their confidence and potential.

Prediction: Fulham has shown promise, but Manchester City is the defending champion. 3-1 Manchester City.
