Kobe Bryant was obviously going crazy as Jeremy Lin and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers seemed to be taking their time in the final seconds of the game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

During the game at Staples Center on January 3, 2015, Mike Conley of the Grizzlies was holding on to the basketball to drain time on the clock during the end of the fourth quarter. The Grizzlies was up 106-105. In the video presented by USA Today, Lin was ordered by head coach Byron Scott to wait until there were only 10 seconds remaining before intentionally fouling Conley. Kobe, however, had other plans.

The video showed Kobe clearly distraught near the post behind Lin, who was guarding Conley. Kobe was flailing his arms and calling out to the Lakers point guard to foul. When it became obvious to Kobe that Lin was not going to grab Conley anytime soon, he rushed towards Conley to bring him to the free throw line. Conley made one of two increasing the Grizzlies' lead by two points.

Ed Davis of the Lakers was also fouled by the Grizzlies and shot one from the line. Courtney Lee was fouled by the Lakers and made both free throws. In the end, Bryant got an inbound pass from Lin and attempted a three-point shot to tie the game but missed as the clock ran out. The Grizzlies won 109-106, based on a report by SB Nation.

In a video by Lakers Nation, coach Scott explained, "[Lin] was trying to listen to me while I'm trying to talk to him, and Kobe ran up and made the foul - and as I told Kobe that was my judgment, you know, just to hold off for a minute.... I was thinking it wasn't going to make much of a difference, to be honest, because I knew we were going to get another shot at it as well. So I just wanted to wait until about the 10-second mark."

Jeremy Lin appeared confused after Kobe ran to foul Conley. After the game, he was asked why he did not intentionally foul the Memphis point guard immediately in the final seconds. Another video by SB Nation showed the Lakers point guard appearing to be laughing at how Scott managed the clock during those crucial moments. Despite the last minute miscommunications, Lin had an above average night, scoring 20 points off the bench.
