Floyd Mayweather may have just confirmed that he is scared of fighting Manny Pacquiao.

Rappler reported that for years, Mayweather has been tagged as a "coward" for putting up so many demands from the Filipino boxer, which included random blood testing, a bigger share of the fight purse, and not fighting Pacquiao as long as Top Rank is representing him.

After the Pacquiao-Algieri fight, however, Mayweather finally gave in. He said in an interview with Fight Hype, "I think the time is right, the time is now."

"I laugh about it. I really laugh about it because I say, you know, I don't mind being a rich coward," said the undefeated Mayweather in an exclusive interview with Fight Hype.

He continued, "I'm able to put my kids in the best schools. I was able to retire my mother. I'm able to put my dad in a comfortable position. Even with social media and everything, we don't like Floyd, we hate Floyd, but we follow Floyd to comment on Floyd.

Mayweather shared why he chose May 2, 2015 as the date of the proposed super bout with Pacquiao.

He said, "I think just timing. You know, the right time, the right place, and I think that this fight should happen. The time is right and the time is now. For years and years, the public has been lied to. The public has been misled by the other side which is the B-side because Mayweather Promotions is the A-side. We just turned the table and I was in a position that Manny Pacquiao is at this particular time."

Mayweather also responded to Pacquiao's previous comment that the American's style is "boring" and "induced us to sleep". Mayweather said, "Me myself, I don't wanna see a coward fight. [But] this is called boxing, and I'm the best at what I do. I always have a strategy... people always remember a winner, I always find a way to win."

He again bashed Pacquiao for wanting to fight him so badly. "We all know he has financial problems, he has problems with those capital letters, which is the IRS. It's crazy that people have been misled," said Floyd.

"Look at his pay-per-view numbers and look at my pay-per-view numbers. I got people that used to work in Pacquiao camp that now works for my camp. So I know the truth about his checks and I know the truth about other things that I'm not going to speak on," he added.
