Several reports are saying that Apple is now preparing to unveil at least two new iPhones next year even if it has just released the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus recently.

According to a December 17 report of Know Your Mobile, it seems like two new iPhones will be unveiled in two separate release dates. It noted that it is possible that the iPhone 6S will be out a little earlier than the iPhone 7.

It said that it is likely that the iPhone 6S be released in the first half of next year and adds that there is also a possibility that the said iPhone will be released with the new Apple Watch. The iPhone 7, on the other hand, it said, might be put to a later release date -- late third quarter of 2015.

Stabley Times earlier predicted that the iPhone 7 will be out in September, following the spring release of the iPhone 6S and Apple Watch. The report also aired the possibility of Apple shifting to a six month release timetable to compete with Samsung's more frequent release of phones.

Let's note that Apple has consistently released only one handset per year. But this obviously came to an end when it released its iPhone 5S and the cheaper iPhone 5C a year ago and the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus this year.

So what would these next generation iPhones look like?

Design

According to Know Your Mobile, it is believed that Apple might retain its design "well alone" to "save the big design updates for every other cycle."

But if Apple opts to change it, MacWorld said it expects the iPhone 7 to be thicker than the iPhone 6. It also said that it is possible that Apple might use different materials for the new iPhones suggesting that they might use the Sapphire glass for the phone display. Sapphire glass has already been used in the display of the recently unveiled Apple Watch.

Biggest camera update ever?

Know Your Mobile citing Daring Fireball's John Gruber revealed that users will be amazed with the new iPhone's camera. In the podcast, Gruber revealed that a source told him that this will be the "biggest camera jump ever." "I've heard that it's some kind of weird two-lens system where the back camera uses two lenses and it somehow takes it up into DSLR quality imagery," he was quoted in the report saying.

Hajek's concept image

Designer Martin Hajek has tried making a concept image for the iPhone 7. The image shows a smaller but a wider iPhone. He said he based his concept image on the idea of Business Insider's tech editor Steven Tweedie. View his design here.

Xerix93's design

Another concept was made by Deviantart designer Xerix93. Xerix93 designed the new iPhone with aluminum unibody with mono-crystalline diamond. The image reveals that the device might measure 4.7 inches in size. It also suggests that it might get a 1920x1080 resolution with Retina HD display. The new device is also seen to get the new iOS 9, the concept image showed. It also added that the device may likely be available in several colors -- silver, space grey, black, and gold.
