It's been about three months since the iPhone 6 was released, and now people are talking about iPhone 7.

Rumors of the next iteration of Apple's smartphone began emerging a few weeks back. Now, a Serbian concept engineer Nikola Cirkovic has fueled such talks by releasing a concept image of the iPhone 7 - which can double as a recommendation that Apple's design meister could consider incorporating in the next release.

"The proposed 'iPhone 7' uses a lot less space at both the top and bottom of the display and Cirkovic seems to have shrunk the device's iconic home button a bit to fit a larger display into a smaller space," BGR noted. "The side bezels, which Apple has been consistently shrinking ever since the launch of the first-generation iPhone, also seem slimmer."

You can see the Serbian engineer's design here.

"Cirkovic also proposes having more sensors packed into the device so users can rely less on pushing buttons and can instead let the phone do a lot of the work for them," the site added.

Meanwhile, Business Insider noted that the design proposed by Cirkovic was predominantly in black and white as he reportedly "misses the beautiful simplicity of the first iPhones."

Cirkovic is not the only one who has offered an alternative design for the next iPhone, though. Jackson Chung has also released his own take of the upcoming model, which you can see here.

"With the touch sensitive panels on the side, the phone will enable a lot power display to show message or app notifications without needing to waste batter firing up the battery-guzzling screen," TechRadar noted. "Plus the side controls allow for all new gaming abilities for your digits - that's an idea we can get on board with."

Another individual, Jan-Willem Reusink, has also pushed his iPhone 7 idea forward, making his proposition "all about the metal," TechRadar said. You can see his concept here.

Forbes' Jay McGregor, however, has attempted to dampen the excitement over iPhone 7 by warning that the next model "won't be much of an update."

"A contact of mine at a major smartphone manufacturer told me that next year's device (more info on that later this week) won't be much of an update. The hardware will be slightly upgraded and the OS will look slightly different and have a few new shiny features. He did not sound excited," he said.

It's worth pointing out he did not mention the company involved, though.

"Expect the iPhone 7 and every other flagship launched next year to be a minimal, incremental upgrade on the previous model - à la Sony Xperia series," he continued. "If you want an idea of what the iPhone 7 will be like, take a look at the iPhone 6, throw in a cameo appearance from John Oliver at the launch event, a couple of gimmicks, 40% more shininess and you're basically there."

What do you say, Apple fans?
