The season 13 premiere of ‘CSI’ is sure to be filled with thrilling drama as the group races to save D.B. Russell’s granddaughter, who was kidnapped in the season finale last may. The premiere episode, entitled “Karma To Burn,” will also include a slew of guest stars.

Last season, fans were left wondering what would happen to D.B. Russell’s (Ted Danson) granddaughter after she was kidnapped but they will soon discover who is to blame. However, all signs point to Jeffrey McKeen, whose son was killed by the CSIs.

D.B. Russell’s granddaughter will not be the only one in harms way during the premiere. Julie Finlay (Elisabeth Shue) will be forced to rescue herself and Russell’s granddaughter, TV Line reported. According to executive producer Don McGill, “She will launch herself on a dangerous mission and use her smarts and her toughness.”

McGill added, “And I can tell you this much: In the premiere, Lisa Shue as Finlay really proved herself to be an action hero.”

The CSIs will have to figure out who can, and should be trusted, this season as well. TV Line reported that Det. Crenshaw and Det. Carlos Moreno (Enrique Murciano) will both be under suspicion. “We won’t really know whether he’s someone we can trust or not,” McGill said of Moreno.

McGill also told TV Line that Russell’s granddaughter’s kidnapping will also bring problems at home. “We’ll discover that Barbara Russell (Peri Gilpin) may not be so happy about their transfer to Las Vegas,” the executive producer said.

“And if she was missing Seattle before, with her granddaughter taken and her daughter a wreck and her husband packing a gun and launched into this mission to get his granddaughter back, taking him right to the edge, Barbara will really be questioning the decision to move the family to Las Vegas by the end of the premiere,” McGill said.

But fans should not worry about their marriage crumbling, McGill promised. “The love is still there,” he told TV Line.

The season 13 premiere will include a large group of guest stars including D.B. Russell’s wife (Peri Gilpin), Detective Carlos Moreno (Enrique Murciano), former under-sheriff Jeffrey McKeen (Conor O’Farrell) and Henry Andrews (Jon Wellner).

‘CSI’ season 13 premieres on September 26 at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
