The accomplishment breaks LMFAO's record of 1,574,963 likes for "Party Rock Anthem."

Guinness World Records Community Manager Dan Barrett said, "Having been the 'have you seen this?!' video of the last two months across the web, it's great to be able to award a record for this tremendously popular video."

Barrett added that a certificate has been made and awaits Psy to pick it up "at any time!"

Psy's success has not gone unnoticed in the US. Psy is also the first South Korean artist to top the iTunes chart.

The South Korean rapper has appeared on "Ellen" teaching Britney Spears how to perform the infamous invisible horse dance, featured at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, "Today," and most recently in a "Saturday Night Live" sketch featuring Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.
