Apple's newest mobile operating system (OS) is now 48 hours old, and although the iOS 6 has over 200 features, there's only a handful of it getting the most attention, such as Passbook.

Passbook has been referred to as Apple's answer to the Google Wallet, where an app can store gift cards, coupons, tickets, and other important documents instead of having a physical copy in your wallet or bother to print copies out.

Passbook has been getting mixed reviews, but perhaps not as bad as the comments Apple Maps has been receiving.

"This will remain the case until retailers, gyms, travel companies and the like start to use the app and offer tickets and documents through it - something that we imagine will take some time," reported Alistair Charlton of the International Business Times.

Passbook is also location-sensitive. According to Slash Gear, the new app will suggest relevant items pending on your current location such as a Starbucks offer if you're in a Starbucks café. The app will also adjust itself based on dates, such as moving your plane ticket to the notifications on the screen on the day of the light and will even notify you if you've entered the wrong airport terminal.

"As with the maps app, Passbook feels distinctly unfinished," added Charlton.

For Forbes contributor Christopher Versace, he believes Passbook is the "biggest missed opportunity" in the iOS 6.

He noted, "Not only does it lack the intuitive nature that has come to define Apple's products, but it seems that Apple has released a less than fully baked product. Or at least one that could have been much more."

Versace stated he had high hopes for the Passbook but it appears it was "less than ready for prime time."

One early complaint was the variety of retailers in Passbook, but according to Billboard, Ticketmaster, Live Nation, Stub Hub, Fandango, American Airlines, and Major League Baseball have partnered with the new app.

As Latinos Post reported yesterday, some Apple customers have experienced problems with Passbook, receiving an error message when connecting to iTunes.

One possible solution to the matter can be found here, along with other iOS 6 problems.

The iOS 6 is compatible for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad 2, fourth and fifth generation iPod Touch.
