With Resident Evil 6 due in stores in just mere weeks, Capcom is upping the hype and anticipation with a new trailer.
The trailer was showcased at the Tokyo show and expands on ideas explored in prior trailers. The main cliffhanger of the previous trailer was a matchup between Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield. Chris wanted to kill a woman that resembled Ada Wong as Leon defended her. However, we never knew if this was in fact Ada Wong or not. In this new trailer it is revealed that Ada is working for a new iteration of Umbrella and it seems that the CIA advisor Derek Simmons is also in league with Umbrella.

But the most interesting aspect of the trailer is its beginning in which we are shown two women, Helena Harper and what is eventually revealed to be her sister. In the first trailers, Helena states that the President's infection is her fault. Now we are getting more of her story as a bunch of unknown men carry away Helena's sister. She is later seen arguing with Simmons over Leon's intercom.
Then we see an extended play sequence on an airplane. That is followed with an extensive group battle with the Usatank, a B.O.W that is after Jake Muller, the son of former baddie Albert Wesker. More items on display are a nuke that seems ready to destroy China and more action sequences with all the characters.
The new game is seeking to blend the various genres that it has encapsulated throughout its two decades as a franchise. Leon's campaign will be more focused on the survival horror aspect of the early games while Chris' will focus on the action that has dominated the series of late.
The game will be available on the Xbo 360 and PS3 on October 2.
