Best iOS Apps & Games of 2014: ‘Elevate,’ ‘Threes’ Top Apple List

You'll typically find a lot of "best of 2014" lists in the last month of the year and this December is no different. There also has been roundups of the best apps for iPad and iPhone devices, but it's only now that Apple has released its official roster. Let the mass App Store downloading begin.

"Elevate" earned top honors on the Cupertino-based firm's list - a fact that many iOS fans may agree to and other people may start paying attention to.

"'Elevate' is a brain training program designed to improve focus, speaking skills, processing speed, memory, math skills, and more," BGR explained. "Each person is provided with his or her own personalized training program that adjusts over time to maximize results."

It is also said that the more one trains with this app, "the more you'll improve critical cognitive skills that are proven to boost productivity, earning power, and self-confidence." It's was also reported that those who use this program at least 4 times weekly "have reported dramatic gains and increased confidence."

No wonder it's sitting at the top of the heap of iOS apps this year.

"Threes" has also ranked high on the list. It's been named as the best iPhone game, according to The Guardian.

"'Threes' is a tiny puzzle that grows on you," the app's description went, which also encourages users to "grow your mind beyond imagination."

"Instagram's 'Hyperlapse' videography app and 'Leo's Fortune', a platform game, were named runners-up," Time added.
